> (DP) - Jacksonville - Exciting day at Four Palms
>
>    The 9th hole proved to be quite costly last night as 4 discs were
> attracted to the lake, like ducks.  Surprisingly Randy "Lakefront"
> Knagge wasn't among the contestants heaving their discs into the lake on
> this evening.  Two discs remained floating and one was eventually
> rescued.  In the attempted rescue of the second disc, "Hit Man"
> McCallister managed to whack the disc, causing its' air bubble to pop,
> leading to its' rapid demise.  Nick "You're going down" Pappas was again
> a no show.  Rumors are rapidly spreading about Nick about his mysterious
> absences.  The leisurely pace of the match eventually took its' toll on
> the contestants.  Speed golf took over starting at the 10th hole in
> order to finish up before it got dark.  This allowed several people to
> find their rhythm while others fell off under the grueling pace.  The
> rain, which started on the 16th hole didn't dampen anyone's enjoyment.
> Two promising rookies were called up from the minor leagues and
> contributed right away.  Carla "Straight Arrow" Keating showed uncanny
> skills at hitting the fairways with her throws. However her putting
> leaves something to be desired which showed in her score of 114.
> Richard "Clank" Keating after a rocky start thrilled his ever-growing
> gallery with some nice throws and outstanding putts many of with hit the
> basket and unfortunately fell out leading to his score of 116.  Clank
> will be a force to be dealt with in future matches.  Pinkie Taylor was a
> bit off his usual game, however thrilled the gallery with some amazing
> putts including one putt that had such tremendous backspin that it
> clawed it's way into the basket.  Pinkie ended up with a 65.  Dave
> "Roller Boy" Skelton decided to try a new approach to the game and
> produced several shots, which rolled 50 feet or more.  During the match
> he was reportedly quoted as saying, "Air, you don't need no stinking air
> on your shots.  We have enough hot air around here as it is."  Roller
> Boy finished with a 74.  Woody Gilman had quite an adventure leaving
> many trees quaking, bruised and knicked in his wake as he shot a 77.
> Jason "GPS" McCallister had trouble finding his bearings while shooting
> a 77.  Duane "Awesome" Pawson, using YANTT (yet another new throwing
> technique), his fourth technique in 4 matches, eventually overcame the
> strong challenge of GPS, Pinkie, Roller Boy and Woody to pull out a
> stunning upset by shooting a career best 73.
>
> With the handicaps, the final results of last night's exciting match
> are: Awesome - 52 Roller Boy - 53 Pinkie - 54 Woody -  59 GPS - 60
>
> Robin Hood and Clank don't have a handicap yet.
