2006/07/19 - Krafty Knagge puts on a show

In a thrilling competition, Randy "Krafty" Knagge put on a dramatic
show, wowing crowds and players alike.  The late start due to "No Show"
Nick and "Missing" McCallister didn't seem to affect Krafty.  Rick
"Bushman" Pike was on a walk about throughout most of the course, visiting
and re-visiting many holes.  Becky "Comeback" Klein turned in the best
performance of her young career showing improved form and poise.  Becky
became the first woman in league history to break 100 as she finished with
a 97.  Dave "Late Start" Skelton caught up with the team at the 8th hole
and wowed the ever growing gallery with some very nice throws.  Newcomer
Eric "The Wizard" Shannon putting on a dramatic show chalking up 8 whizs,
his first time on the course.  It should be quite interesting to watch
Clank Keating and Wiz Shannon square off against each other in an upcoming
match.  Puma Pawson got off to a very slow start.  Puma and Bushman were
playing for TWAC and the nerves were showing.  Bushman was up first and
hit the very closest tree possible from the tee box.  Puma managed to make
it a bit further narrowly missing several trees before his throw faded to
the left to soundly whack an oak.  That was the start of Puma's impressive
total of 17 trees on the first 7 holes.  However, improved putting allowed
Puma to stay in the thick of things.

After the front 9, Bushman (40) had a 2 stroke lead on Puma, Krafty and
Late Start (all at 42).  Then things settled down and order was restored
to the universe.  On the back 9, Bushman "No Par" Pike, probably tiring
due to his walk about tour of the park, shot a 40.  Puma had 3 pars on the
back 9 and shot a 36.  Late Start had 2 pars on the back 9 and 1 on the
front and shot a 37.  Late Start also had a birdie chance on #12 with a
great tee shot, only to 3 putt to finish with a 4. Krafty had 2 pars on
the night and shot a 38.  With the handicaps, the order of finish was:
